Compressor packages, engineered to the gas and the site.

Capacity, pressure, gas, altitude, ambient, duty cycle, driver. Axle derates for the site, selects the frame, sizes the dryer and receiver, and prices the whole package with the performance data attached.

What comes in

Half the RFQs quote sea-level ratings for a mountain plant.

Typical requests

  • Plant air packages: rotary screw or reciprocating, with dryer, receiver and filtration
  • Process gas and vapor recovery units from a gas analysis
  • Blowers and vacuum for aeration, conveying and process duty
  • Replacement airends, frames and motors from a nameplate
  • Dryer, receiver and filtration add-ons to an existing plant
  • Rental-to-purchase conversions with a spec attached

What Axle reads from them

  • Capacity in ACFM, SCFM or MCFD, and which one the customer meant
  • Suction and discharge pressure, inlet temperature, gas composition and BTU
  • Altitude, ambient range, indoor or outdoor, sound requirements
  • Duty cycle and control mode: load/unload, VFD, modulation
  • Driver type, voltage, area classification
  • Dew point requirement, filtration class, customer standards
What Axle does

Derated to the site before anything is selected.

The frame that meets the duty at sea level often doesn't at 5,000 feet and 100 degrees. Axle runs the derate first, then selects.

Selection, configuration and sizing

  • Compressor type and frame: rotary screw, reciprocating, centrifugal, blower, single or two-stage
  • Altitude and inlet-temperature derate on capacity and motor
  • Motor or engine sizing, VFD, cooling (air or water) to the ambient
  • Dryer type and size by dew point and inlet conditions: refrigerated or desiccant
  • Receiver sizing to the control mode, filtration by class, condensate handling
  • Skid, enclosure, sound attenuation, controls and sequencing for multiple units

Validated before review

  • Derated capacity at site conditions meets the required flow with margin
  • Discharge pressure and control mode match the demand profile
  • Motor loading and service factor at altitude
  • Dryer sized for the compressor's full flow at inlet temperature
  • Electrical: voltage, FLA, disconnect and starter requirements
  • Area classification and sound level against the installation
  • Vendor pricing current, margin above floor, lead time inside the requested date
Worked example

A plant air package for a 5,200-foot site.

The frame the customer asked for doesn't make the duty once it's derated. Axle says so and selects the one that does. Illustrative

Noted for the customerThe 125 HP unit you asked for falls short after altitude and temperature derate. Quote shows the 150 HP frame, with the 125 HP as a priced alternate. If you need a −40°F dew point, the dryer changes to desiccant; asked.
What you get

Your documents, ready to send.

Quote, BOM and submittal

  • Quote or proposal in your template, with the package itemized and priced alternates where they help
  • BOM in your Excel format: compressor, dryer, receiver, filtration, controls, installation items
  • Submittal: performance data at site conditions, dryer data, electrical data, sound data
  • Validation report with the derate shown, for your engineer

Where it plugs in

  • Manufacturer selection and performance tools for your frames
  • Vendor price files and distributor portals
  • Your ERP for part numbers, cost and inventory
  • Your CRM for the opportunity and the documents
  • Email, where the RFQs actually arrive

Connectors are scoped per deployment. Where a system has no API, Axle works from the exports and files you already produce.

Questions

Compressor questions.

Does Axle derate for altitude and ambient temperature?

Yes, before it selects. Capacity and motor loading are corrected for elevation and inlet temperature, and the derate is shown on the quote so the customer sees why the frame changed.

Can it handle vapor recovery units and process gas, not just plant air?

Yes. Gas composition, BTU, suction and discharge conditions and area classification drive the selection, and the package includes the coolers, scrubbers and controls the service needs.

What if the customer asked for a specific horsepower?

Axle prices what they asked for as an alternate and quotes what actually makes the duty, with the reason stated. Your engineer decides which leads.

Bring a compressor RFQ. We'll derate it live.

Thirty minutes, on your frames and a request you actually received.
